The Optimist European Championship began yesterday in Southern Italy with summery temperatures and a fresh seabreeze. Three races were sailed in both gender fleets.
Alice Moss SWE has taken the interim's lead in the Girls 2 points ahead of Gaia Bergonzini ITA. Gaia Falco ITA is on the 3rd place. The best 53 in the 105 participants' fleet will qualify for the Goldfleet.
Richard Schultheis MLT leads in the Boys' fleet one point ahead of Vasileios Livas GRE. Mic Mohr GER folgt auf Rang 3. The 181 participants sail in three fleets with the best 61 qualifying for the Goldfleet.
